What happens when the next generation of theatre-makers turns to face the future?
In Wrestling with Tomorrow, the 2026 graduating Honours ensemble of the Flinders Drama Centre perform a collection of original short works created by the students themselves.
Developed across their final year of training, the works begin from the artists’ own ideas, experiences and preoccupations, wrestled into shape for the stage and screen by director Anthony Nicola, in collaboration with students of Flinders’ Masters in Virtual Production . Personal, political, comic and unexpected, they offer no single vision of what comes next. Instead, they capture a group of young artists in the act of working it out.
Wrestling with Tomorrow marks both an ending and a beginning: a farewell to the Drama Centre, and an encounter with the unknown beyond it. Turn and face the strange.
